Privacy Policy

Who we are

VoteMyPlan ("we," "us," "our") is a group decision-making tool that lets people brainstorm names, vote, and reach a final decision together. This policy explains what information we collect when you use VoteMyPlan, and how we use it.

Information we collect

Information you provide directly:

  • The name you type in when creating or joining a group (no email, password, or account is required to participate).
  • The group name, category, description, and any suggestions or votes you submit within a group.

Information collected automatically:

  • A private access token is stored in your browser (in localStorage, not a tracking cookie) so you stay recognized as the same participant when you return to a group. This token is specific to each group and isn't used to track you across other websites.
  • Standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and access times) are recorded by our hosting infrastructure for security and troubleshooting purposes, as is normal for any website.

How we use this information

  • To operate the core features of VoteMyPlan: creating groups, submitting suggestions, voting, and showing results.
  • To keep your session recognized within a group you've joined.
  • To maintain the security and reliability of the service (e.g. detecting abuse or spam).

We do not sell your information to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising at this time.

Who can see your data

The name you enter and the suggestions or votes you submit are visible to other members of the same group (subject to that group's settings, such as anonymous voting, where available). Group owners and admins can see suggestions and, unless a group has anonymous voting enabled, may be able to see voting activity within their own group.

We do not share your information with unrelated third parties. Our infrastructure providers (the server and database that host VoteMyPlan) process data on our behalf solely to run the service, and do not use it for their own purposes.

Data retention

Group data is kept for as long as the group remains active. Group owners can delete a group, which removes its associated suggestions and votes. We may also introduce automatic deletion of inactive groups after a period of time in the future — if so, this policy will be updated accordingly.

Cookies and future advertising

VoteMyPlan does not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. If we introduce advertising in the future (for example, through Google AdSense or AdMob), this policy will be updated in advance to describe what's collected and how, and we will provide any required consent controls at that time.

Children's privacy

VoteMyPlan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us using the details below and we will remove it.

Your choices

You can leave a group at any time by simply not returning to it — no account deletion is needed since no account was created. If you'd like a group's data (including your submissions) removed, or have any other question about your data, contact us using the details below and we'll assist you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as we add new features. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of VoteMyPlan after a change means you accept the updated policy.
